Easter and a Slice of Life

On this, the final day of the March 2024 Slice of Life Challenge, I wish all who celebrate a Blessed Easter. Moreover, I extend my congratulations to all who participated in this month’s challenge.

Circumstances this year have made my own participation a challenge; however, I made a determined exercise of posting each day–no matter how uncertain I was of the relevance and scope of my writing. I learned that merely engaging in the effort has a significance far beyond my own self-critical sensibilities. This understanding will have profound implications once the sun sets today.

I only regret that I could not read as much as I usually do each March of other writers’ posts. Becoming acquainted with a few new writing colleagues compensates for that and will draw me to their work even on days when I do not post.

My partner Michelle has offered me tremendous support and encouragement this month, and in consultation with her, I believe I am prepared for the year-round challenge of continuing to participate in the Slice of Life each Tuesday. Additionally, since I have always derived the most satisfaction from writing poetry, I resolve to post a poem each Friday. Writing is important to me, and I must never neglect it again.

I look forward to more of the inspiration I have for so long found among this group of writers.

I am participating in the Two Writing Teachers March 2024 Slice of Life Challenge.

    1. Thanks for the encouragement! I am taking this particular Tuesday to draw inspiration from others’ work. I enjoyed your post about the eclipse.
